Group Footpath work party information
If you find a new waymark post or a recently cleared path in the Brentwood, Maldon, South of the Crouch, Tendring, Uttlesford or West Essex districts, the odds are that the job will have been done by their Group Work Parties. These independently organised teams, working in association with Essex Highways, beaver away making our paths safe and walkable, although they are little known to most walkers and gain few thanks for their hard and dedicated work.
It is particularly pleasing to look down a reopened path, over a cleared bridge, or expose a Waymark Post hidden by vegetation for years. The work is endless but enjoyable. We always need more volunteers. Give us a try - you will not be disappointed.
