Whitstable – Canterbury Sunday 23rd July (Leader: John Champ)
The morning walk starts to the east of Whitstable and then along the Saxon Shore Way in Whitstable for about a mile then travelling south we shall pass through Clowes Wood on route to our lunch time stop at Honey Hill. In the afternoon, continuing in a southerly direction via Church Wood and Rough Common we will eventually wind our way into the City of Canterbury, hopefully, for an optional tea shop and/or a short visit to the city centre and cathedral grounds.
For those not wishing to walk in the afternoon the coach will pick up prior to lunch from Honey Hill for transportation to the City centre. Please note that the Cathedral’s web site states that ‘general visiting times on Sundays is from 12.30 to 14.30’ and there is an entrance fee payable.
